The UK’s Best-selling Car of 2022
The Nissan Qashqai is officially the UK’s favourite car of 2022, with a total of 42,704 new Qashqais driven off dealership forecourts in 2022.
Three generations of Qashqai have been on sale in the UK since it was first launched in 2007, all of which have regularly appeared among individual month’s best-seller lists, however this is the first time it’s been the year’s best-selling car overall, and the first time a Nissan has topped the annual sales charts.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to see this car’s increasing success over the last 16 years, and it’s a fitting tribute to the skills and talents of Nissan’s excellent design, engineering, production and sales teams all around the UK.”
The Brit’s celebrated by building an exclusive gold-wrapped Qashqai.
Which? Most Reliable Car 2022
The new Nissan Qashqai was declared the UK’s most reliable car after a survey of 50,000 UK consumers.
The Qashqai emerged as the clear leader following an annual reliability survey conducted by respected consumer affairs organisation, Which?.
The car achieved a rare five-star reliability rating with expert testers praising the car’s practicality, dependability and family appeal.
“Nissan’s efforts with the all-new version have seen it crowned our most reliable car for 2023 – a fantastic achievement for what is one of the more affordable cars in the sector,” – Which?
What Car? Safety Award 2022
Nissan is delighted that the all-new Nissan Qashqai has been awarded the Safety Award at the 2022 What Car? Car of the Year Awards. The Safety Award is given to a model that represents the highest standards in occupant protection and recognises manufacturers that put safety at the top of their priority list.
This prestigious accolade follows Qashqai’s success in the recent Euro NCAP Best in Class Cars of 2021, where the model was the highest rated in the ‘Small Off-Road’ category.
On the Qashqai’s success, Steve Huntingford, Editor of What Car? said; “One of the reasons that the new Nissan Qashqai is the 2022 What Car? Safety Award winner is that its overall Euro NCAP score is among the best of all the cars tested in the last 12 months. But for us it’s just as significant that such safety comes in a relatively affordable family SUV, because it puts it within reach of so many drivers. The Qashqai protects its occupants in a crash just as well as some models that cost four times as much.”
4×4 Magazine’s Crossover of the Year 2023
[Along with the Nissan X-Trail winning best overall 4×4 of the Year] … Judges at the 4×4 of the Year awards, sponsored by BFGoodrich, also gave the coveted ‘Best Crossover’ title to the Nissan Qashqai.
“The Qashqai was new last year, and it went straight to the top of its class,” added Alan. “It does have some strong rivals – not least another Nissan, the Juke – but in the last 12 months its position has actually become stronger. The e-Power drivetrain has added something really worthwhile to what was already one of the definitive family vehicles of its time.”
Matt Duncan, Passenger Car Marketing Manager at Nissan GB, said: “It is such an honour for X-Trail to be awarded 4X4 of the Year, as well as Best Medium SUV, and for Qashqai to be named Best Crossover.
“These are incredibly competitive segments and it’s exciting to see e-4ORCE and e-POWER technologies making such a positive impression on the industry.”
Towcar of the Year, 1,300-1,400 kg Category 2022
Nissan is pleased to announce that the all-new electrified Nissan Qashqai has received its first accolade from the Caravan and Motorhome Club in the Towcar of the Year Awards 2022.
Recently surpassing 15,000 orders in the UK, the Nissan Qashqai Tekna+ Xtronic version was named overall winner of the Caravan Weight 1300-1400kg category.
The judges praised the Qashqai’s performance in the competition, saying it made a “good all-round towcar, doing everything well”, and would make a “sound purchase” for any customer.
The awards were announced at the Caravan and Motorhome Club Towcar of the Year Awards 2022 ceremony, held at the Royal Automobile Club in London.
